THEORY&PRACTICE
A New Series of Classes by Jonathan Linton

Each class, or session, will last between 6-8 weeks and will follow this method:

First 2-3 Weeks: Theory

Remaining Weeks: Practice

All sessions will be held on Tuesdays, from 7-9:30pm at
ArtSpace Herndon, in Herndon, Virginia.


Session 1: Color
8 Weeks • Sept. 7 - Oct. 26, 2010
Understanding, seeing and mixing color in oils.

Session 2: Representing 3D in 2D
6 Weeks • Nov. 2 - Dec. 14, 2010 (except Nov. 23rd) • $205
Learn the fundamentals required to represent our 3-Dimensional world on a 2-Dimensional surface.

Session 3: Rendering Line & Form
7 Weeks • Jan. 11 - Feb. 22, 2011 • $235
With the goal of aesthetic depiction, participants will travel the path that starts at the sketch and arrives at the fully rendered drawing.

Session 4: Fundamentals of the Face
8 Weeks • Mar. 1 - Apr. 26, 2011 (except April 19th) • $265
Find out how to align the various elements of the human visage to illustrate both the ideal and the idiosyncratic physiognomy.

Session 5: Fundamentals of the Figure
6 Weeks • May 3 - June 7, 2011 • $205
This course is designed to familiarize the participant with the general knowledge necessary to draw the human form sans anatomical awkwardness.
